Yuriy: Europe will populate Russia with Roma
|
Europe seems to have found a radical solution to the problems of its Roma - simply to take and to move them to Russia. As reported by the "Interpreter" a number of key EU countries are considering this option - France, Italy, Spain and the European Union itself. Only Germany acts against this so far. And the trouble is that Moscow seems to be ready to talk about it with Brussels: according to the publication this issue will be subject to negotiations in the “Russia – European Union” format in 2011-2012.
According to conservative estimates there are 9 to 12 million Roma in Europe. Most of them reside in Romania - 1.9 million (more than 10% of the total population), followed by Bulgaria (750 000), Spain (700 000), Hungary (600 000), Slovakia and Serbia (500 000 each), France (310 000), Czech Republic (275 000), Greece (175 000), Macedonia (185 000). Last year, as the newspaper reminds, Europe was rocked by a scandal in France, where on the orders of Nicolas Sarkozy a few thousand Roma have been deported. They were sent to Bulgaria and Romania. Sarkozy was accused of racism, France was harshly criticized by Brussels and the United Nations, but Paris turned a deaf ear to the criticism. And since it is impossible to deal with Roma migration using only deportations (as practice shows the deportees eventually come back), the Ministry of Internal Affairs of France has developed a special law forbidding Roma to return. According to international human rights organizations Roma rights are also violated in almost all European countries - the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain etc. In Finland, for example, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has prepared a special law prohibiting begging, which according to human rights activists is explicitly directed against Roma. An even more dramatic situation can be observed in Hungary: the rise of nationalism resulted in the deportation of Roma from a number of villages. Despite the protests of human rights activists the idea of deportation of Roma communes in has garnered much support in Europe. For example, almost 69% of the French supported the actions of Sarkozy. Similar figures are characteristic for Hungary, Slovakia and other countries. At the same time it is both technically and economically impossible to deport all Roma to Romania or Bulgaria as it has been done before: the size of these countries does not permit it and local nationalists protest against Roma even louder. And an idea was born in Europe - why not deport all Roma to Russia (and Ukraine) if there is currently enough vacant space? And the tolerance towards the Roma in Tsarist Russia (it is sufficient to remember how our classics of music and literature valued Romani songs) speaks in favor of this. It is assumed that each Roma family at the same time will receive money from the European Union to relocate and settle in. The specific amount is not yet known. But it is known that during the deportation from France authorities paid every Roma €500 if he voluntarily refused to come back. In all likelihood, the amounts allocated for the relocation of Roma to Russia will be more significant as per person. Thus relying on our complaisance and hospitality, "tolerant" Europe wants to solve the problem of their intolerance at our expense. And it should be noted that within influential and government circles of Russia the ground is also being actively prepared for such decisions. This of course concerns not only the European Roma (that would only be a small part of the problem). "Today we are discussing a fateful scenario for Russia" – with such words the head of the migration laboratory at the Institute of Economic Forecasting by the RAS Zhanna Zayonchkovskaya justified the need for mass reception of migrants during a recent speech at a meeting of an expert group on updating the "Strategy 2020". "It affects the pace of our development and the existence of the status, which Russia currently holds" – website "Slon.ru" quoted expert. The scenario really is fateful for Russia. After all if Russia were to follow the recommendations of Ms Zayonchkovskaya the country would need at least 20 million migrants until 2025 in addition to about the same number that have already settled in Russia (mostly illegally). In this scenario (considered by Ms Zayonchkovskaya as a minimum) Russia will cease to exist historically and in its current state. It will become a completely different country – an alien territory. Ms Zayonchkovskaya predicts that the Chinese will become the second largest nation (most populous) of this particular "Russia": "If we talk about other resources of attracting migrants – it is through China. The Chinese problem is concealed. And the longer we bury our heads in the sand, the more unexpected it will emerge upon us. I have made this forecast and I confirm it now: in the middle of the century the Chinese will be the second largest nation in Russia exceeding the Tatars, i.e. about 10 million people". And there is nothing wrong with this scenario according to Ms Zayonchkovskaya - in fact she encourages to be ready for it. In general the expert thinks that "we should train skilled workers here using unskilled migrant workers". Because "a skilled migrant worker will not even come to us". “We must be ready for bold decisions”, - finally admonishes Ms Zayonchkovskaya the developers of the official strategy of Russia's development leading up to 2020. - We must explain that migration is essential for our nation, so that it can begin living better". Such are the scenarios being prepared for "Strategy 2020" by the expert community. Europeans and their plan of relocating the Roma to Russia is in a completely different league. |
